About the Friends of Derby Arboretum
Who we are
We are a diverse group of locals who are passionate about the Arboretum: Britain’s first public park. We welcome new faces and would love to hear from those interested in the past and present of our beautiful park.
Follow us on facebook : ‘Derby Arboretum Friends Group’ and ‘Derby Arboretum Community’ to see our latest news or Contact us!
What we do
We organise at least three free public events each year: Mayfest in Spring, Lark in the Park in mid-
September and Luminate in November.
We also facilitate activities and events for local people through community groups such as our
Gardening Group and Crafting Company.
Where we are
Our Community Hub, Loudon Lodge, is next to our Community Garden (between Grove St and the
Arboretum Square entrances). It is available for hire
We are located on the historic Grade 2* landscape of Derby Arboretum, given to the people of
Derby in 1840.
